The 8th Nuclear Power Plant Corrosion Prevention and Protection Technology Exchange Conference was successfully held in Suzhou from November 16th to 17th, 2023.
During this exchange meeting, representatives from the China Nuclear Energy Industry Association, universities and research institutes across the country, nuclear power groups, and member companies attended. The meeting aimed to strengthen technological innovation and experience exchange in the field of corrosion and protection of nuclear power plants in China. Professor Duan from the Institute of Oceanography, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was invited to discuss the research on biological corrosion damage and control technology in coastal nuclear power plant facilities, The main focus is on marine mussels, and the biological control technology for marine fouling is still a common technological problem that needs to be solved in the field of marine biological corrosion pollution.Mechanical removal, fouling coating, electrolytic anti fouling, and biocides are currently the main marine biological fouling control technologies, but there are corresponding technical points, and there is still no method to solve all marine fouling control problems.
On the basis of studying the attachment and growth mechanisms of marine fouling organisms under different environmental factors, targeted biological fouling control technologies should be adopted, and new prevention technologies should be continuously developed and industrialized applications should be accelerated to fundamentally reduce the huge losses caused by marine biological fouling.
