Petrobras P67 deck coating project
P67 is China's first independently integrated world-class offshore floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO), representing the largest, most complex, and highest technical requirements FPSO project delivered by China to foreign countries.
In 2013, the P67 FPSO MEGA BLOCK's bow section, constructed by Petrobras in Brazil, underwent anti-corrosion work at Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. The paint on the module's surface was damaged during welding, and the paint on the module's surface could also be damaged during lifting operations. The traditional repair process involves sandblasting and paint touch-up, which is generally less effective and environmentally polluting. By using the advanced ultra-high pressure water jet technology, the burnt paint can be removed, restoring the original roughness of the steel plate. Additionally, the damaged paint on the surface can be touched up, which is more convenient and faster than using grinding wheels. The soluble salt content on the steel plate surface complies with offshore engineering standards.
In 2017, the second deck and module paint stripping project was carried out on the P67 platform by CNOOC (Qingdao) Co., Ltd., covering an area of over 16,000 square meters.
