Application of Water Jet Demolition for Concrete Foundations
High-pressure water jet demolition of concrete foundations is a new technology developed using water jet technology. High-pressure water jets can be used for operations at various angles, such as horizontal and inclined surfaces. The high-pressure water's impact causes damaged or poorly performing concrete interfaces to crack and peel, offering advantages such as high efficiency, pollution-free operation, no wear, and ability of selective removal. It has been widely applied in civil engineering, construction, mining, transportation, and military industries. It is suitable for the maintenance, reinforcement, and demolition of concrete structures such as bridges, tunnels, dams, ports, terminals, roads, airports, and buildings, achieving efficient, precise, and environmentally friendly concrete demolition.
The principle is to pressurize water to a rate of 200-400 MPa, giving it tremendous cutting and demolishing power, and directing it through nozzles with tiny diameter. In the case of ultra-high-strength concrete demolition, traditional methods like manual pneumatic pick and mechanical impact can encounter difficulties. However, the water jet process uses high-speed water jets sprayed from nozzles to enter the microcracks on the concrete surface. When the pressure generated exceeds the tensile strength of the concrete, the concrete is broken. High-pressure water jet demolition of concrete does not damage the reinforcement of the reinforced concrete structure and can remove pollutants such as chlorides from the surface, enabling better bonding between the reinforcement and new concrete.
In response to the above issues, our company has developed an automated hydraulic concrete demolition device for specific scenarios and achieved good results in field testing.
